Women’s Study Group !!!

All women are welcome to this multi-generational group! College women and those older than college age, we’d love to have you! Invite someone.

Our first meeting is on Thursday, January 18, 2018, from 8:45-10:15 a.m. at the home of Mary Jo Thayer (just two miles from SHoJ). Please contact the Parish Office or see the bulletin for address.

While no childcare is provided, babies are welcome! We will be reading Thomas Dubay’s Happy Are You Poor: The Simple Life and Spiritual Freedom (Ignatius Press). This will be an excellent study leading into Lent. Please read the introductory remarks and Chapter One in preparation for the first meeting.

Email Mary Jo Thayer at [email protected] to reserve your spot! We will draw from Scripture, the Catechism, and several great encyclicals on marriage, family, and the dignity of women to assist us in this study. Our world, our church, and our families need strong, faithful women today more than ever! In the words of Saint John Paul, “The Church gives thanks for all the manifestations of the feminine genius, which have appeared in the course of history, in the midst of all peoples and nations; she gives thanks for all the charisms which the Holy Spirit distributes to women in the history of the People of God, for all the victories which she owes to their faith, hope and charity: she gives thanks for all the fruits of feminine holiness.”
