As Christmas quickly approaches, please consider giving your loved ones the gift of sacred music. “In Bethlehem” is a Christmas album recorded a few years ago by a group of young ladies from our parish. It contains a variety of traditional Advent and Christmas songs. It is known for soothing both babies and adults to sleep and making wonderful background music for all your Christmas festivities! Hard copies can be purchased for $15 through the parish office and online at CDBaby. Digital versions can be found at iTunes Store, CDBaby, and Amazon Music. All of the proceeds benefit the music fund for Sacred Heart Church.

Special training and parish update is a prerequisite for this ministry. Dear Parishioners of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, We wish to convey to you our immense gratitude for your participation in this Fall’s 40 Days for Life Campaign that began on September 26 and ended on Sunday, November 4. 50 churches were involved and 596 people participated over all. Here at Sacred Heart Parish, about 26 of our fellow parishioners came forward to pray and stand in peaceful witness to proclaim to our city the horrendous atrocity that is practiced here among us. Almost all (9 out of 12) hours were covered by at least two people. They braved the weather and the scorn of passers-by, but they had firm resolve that God will hear us and heal us and change the hearts and minds of those intent on the destruction of precious human life in the womb. They remained prayerful and there were no incidents of bad or illegal activity reported. I know that more of you might be willing to change your minds and join us. Here are a few comments from World Headquarters: “From Satanists to socialists to anarchists to Wiccans to homosexual activists to transvestites to paid protesters, we saw it all this fall on the sidewalks. ” And: “With unprecedented persecution of faithful 40 Days for Life prayer warriors this campaign, it became clear that the abortion industry is in trouble.” Here in Grand Rapids alone, at least FIVE babies were saved during this campaign. According to World-wide Headquarter’s, at least 15, 000 babies have been saved since the start of 40 Days for Life back in 2004. Imagine that! Only God knows what kind of an impact these lives will have on our society. Maybe one of them will discover a cure for a deadly disease. Maybe one will be President or Pope. Hopefully, all of them will be kind, loving, caring people because of the love and care given to them. Let us give God thanks and praise for the gifts He has bestowed upon us. The next Campaign starts on Ash Wednesday! We need heroes! Please consider joining us and be a part of one of the most important works being done on this earth–saving
REMINDER TO CONTINUE TO PRAY, FAST, AND STAND IN PEACEFUL WITNESS AGAINST THE ATROCITIES OF ABORTION. YOU CAN SAVE A LIFE! “A PERSON’S A PERSON NO MATTER HOW SMALL.”
Our parish is so blessed to have several bible studies, sacramental preparation, youth ministry, several choirs and a full Academy of students not to mention a weekend full of Masses, all offered each week. Our campus facilities are being used to their full potential and then some! We praise God for the vibrancy and positive culture being fostered here. We ask that everyone continue to practice good stewardship over the gifts the Lord has given us. Please be patient as we are feeling the effects of a growing and active Parish and Academy and know that we are doing the best with the space and resources we have to work with!

As winter is quickly approaching, please be respectful of those needing handicapped parking spaces and don’t take the space if you don’t have a sticker allowing you to do so. Also, there will be no parking signs put up again in the back row of the parking lot to allow the snow removal team to push snow out of the lot and into that spot. Please help us this winter and avoid those spots. Thanks!
